A Powerful Celebration of Brussels’ Turkish Diaspora

Created especially for Balkan Trafik, this large-scale performance brings together generations, traditions and musical worlds from across the Turkish and Balkan diasporas of Brussels. At its heart is Çorba Band, led by wedding singer Gulabi Kubat, surrounded by musicians with roots in North Macedonia, Albania and Turkey. They are joined by Orhan Demir & Anatolian Group and the young dancers of Dillere Destan, appearing in traditional costumes. Expect a vibrant surge of wind instruments, percussion, tapan drums, Anatolian melodies and collective dances, all woven into a powerful stage creation designed for Balkan Trafik. Part wedding celebration, part community gathering, part live musical explosion, this performance transforms traditions into a shared contemporary experience. A colourful, generous and high-energy journey through Anatolia and the Balkans — where heritage becomes celebration and the stage becomes a collective dancefloor.
