Balkan Trafik Festival is proud to showcase Romanian creativity with two unique exhibitions curated by the Brașov County History Museum.
CAN for Balkans – Comics Alliance Networking for Balkans
The “CAN for Balkans – Comics Alliance Networking for Balkans” project is a milestone in Balkan comic history and the most important European historical comics project.
Originating in 2020, the project secured a prestigious European Commission competition win under the Europe Creative program.
This exhibition has traversed the Balkans and even graced Belgium’s prestigious Comics Art Museum Brussels/Belgian Comic Strip Center/Centre Belge de la Bande Dessinée.
The “Histories from ‘89 in comics” exhibition
Inspired by the eponymous comics catalogue, this exhibition delves into the events of December 1989.
It stands as Romania’s first comic book dedicated to this pivotal moment, featuring contributions from 39 authors and spanning an impressive 212 pages. Curated by the Brașov County History Museum, the album, published in December 2019, showcases original works by esteemed Romanian authors, some of whom have gained international recognition.
