Jim Bauters from  Fine Wines JIBA  will make you discover the Hungarian wine treasures during an exclusive wine tasting!

The art of wine cultivation in Hungary was introduced by the Romans many centuries ago. Nowadays Hungarian wines are being produced in six main regions and thanks to many passionate young winemakers we are witnessing a true renaissance of Hungarian wine.

Whether it concerns the white mineral wines from the Balaton region, the powerful red wines from the southernmost wine region Villány-Siklós or the delicious dessert wines from Tokaj-Hegyalja, Hungary has something special to offer for every wine lover.

Try out this unique wine selection for only 9 € presented by a professional Sommelier Conseil.

When? On Thursday 6th December from 14h to 15h30 // On Friday 7th December from 14h to 15h30 and from 16h30 to 18h.

Where? In the Balkan Trafik Tent on Place Sainte Catherine

Be on time because we have a limit of 40 people per wine tasting!

Wine selection

1.Gere Tamás Hárslevelű 2010

Lightgolden white wine from the Lindenleaf grape variety.Intense nose.Nicely balanced wine with a nice acidity.

2.Gere Tamás Portugieser 2011

Fruity and light red wine made from Kékoportó (Portugieser) grape. Wine with a purple colour, supple delicious acids and velvety tannins.

3.Gere Tamás Olaszrizling 2011

White Olaszrizling (Italian Riesling or welschriesling) with a pale lemon-green colour. Aromas of water cress, green apple, gooseberry and citrus.Lean with lively acidity, very refreshing with abundant citrus, herbs on the palat.

4.IKON Cabernet-Merlot Rosé 2011

Salmon coloured rosé wine elaborated from Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot grapes. Aromas of candy and raspberry in the nose. Fresh, fruity taste with a lively acidity

5.IKON Chardonnay 2011

Chardonnay wine with pale golden colour. Fresh aromas of citrus, green apple .Lively acididy, nicely balance, good length

6.IKON Cabernet-Merlot 2008

Red blend wine from Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot and Cabernet Franc. Dark ruby colour.In the nose poppy seed, blackcurrant and spices. In the mouth good acidity, fruity. Pleasant wine

7.Konyári Szerecsen 2011

Fresh and perfumed red blend of Kékfrankos (80%) and Merlot. Very dark purple colour. Aromas are fruitrelated, coffee and green herbs. Pronounced acidity & soft tannins

8.Konyári Cabernet Sauvignon 2009

Typical red wine based on Cabernet Sauvignon grapes.Dark ruby colour. In the nose pepper, spices, blackcurrant, toasty oak. Good mouth feel, medium tannins, fairly long finish

9.Weninger Kékfrankos 2008

Dark Hungarian biodynamical topwine from the Kékfrankos-grape. Powerful nose and palate with notes of dried forest fruits, cherry and medicinal herbs. Well-balanced tannins, delicious acids, complexity and a long finish. Harvested from 12-40-year-old vines. Grapes were hand harvested, gravity processed, fermented naturally and aged in barrels.Unfiltered and unfined with as little sulphur as the wine need

10.Dobogó Satöbbi Aszú 3 Puttonyos 2007

Very good Hungarian sweet wine made from botrytised berries with honey and flowers in the nose.
11,5% vol alcohol. Medaille d’or, Concours International De Vins VinAgora 2012
